The readers of MTBR have vote the Ibis Mojo the best All Mountain Bicycle for the second year in a row.
...but don't take our word for it.
In their 2008 Buyer's Guide, OUTSIDE MAGAZINE just bestowed us with the top honor in the Mountain Bike category: Gear of the Year.
We're of course very happy to win this, facing competition from other bike companies who are 100 times our size (with correspondingly higher R & D budgets), but what make us even happier is to know exactly how much the Outside crew rode this bike before awarding us the top honor. Best to just paste a note in here from Contributing Editor Aaron Gulley, who led the charge on the bike test.
our test trip was to tucson this year, where we probably logged 200-some miles between four riders over the course of a long weekend. all manner of trail: from tight desert single-track to fire roads with banging, rocky descents.
one of our testers rode the bike at the 24 Hours of Old Peublo a month later, just north of tucson. and once again, the bike held up beautifully. that's saying something, too: lots of racers bring mechanics and or back-up bikes to those events. but with a little lube, the mojo just kept going strong all night.
finally, i rode the bike on a local race/ride, the San Ysidro Dirt Century. it was a 125-mile race outside of Albuquerque, and i love the bike. my partner rode a hardtail (for the weight savings; his bike is 20 pounds). i got five inches of travel on the mojo and still saved the weight. obviously a big factor in staying fresh.
i also rode the mojo tons around our local santa fe trails, too. i bet altogether, we probably put 1,000 miles on the mojo. and like i said, no failures and no problems.

BIKE OF THE YEAR. Yep, all that money we're paying the publisher over at What Mountain Bike (sister publication of MBUK--as in Mountain Bike United Kingdom) is paying off. We got their highest honor. Not too bad for little ol' Ibis.

CHIPPS INTERVIEWS CHUCK
That's right, that guy from the U.K. with the glasses just published a rather lengthy interview with our own Chuck Ibis in the most recent edition (January 2008) of his Singletrack magazine. We think it's a good read.
How's your French? Ours is non-existent here at the Ibis World Headquarters. But we know people. And they tell us it's a glowing review. Here's your chance to practice your translation skills.
In their July 2006 issues, both Mountain Bike and Mountain Bike Action heap gobs of praise and love on the Mojo Carbon. Both put the Mojo on to the cover. And we couldn't really ask for a better test from either of them. Suffice to say, they love our bike. We love them back. Long time.
One of the biggies, Outside, has just finished testing a Mojo Carbon. We always like it when magazines outside of our insular bike industry rags tests one of our bikes. We've heard that 2.3 million sets of eyes reads each issue of Outside-or at least looks at the pretty pictures-which pretty much eclipses all bike magazines combined. So we really like it when they write about our goodies, and like it even more when they gush about it and give us a beautifully photographed full page review. Thanks Aaron!
They call it "THE NEW BENCHMARK TRAIL BIKE"
"They" are MBUK one of the leading Mountain Bike Magazines in the U.K. Can you figure out what MBUK stands for? Anyway, "they’ve" just completed a test of four of “2007’s Most Wanted Trail-riding Full Sussers” (as in trail riding full suspension bikes). Competition for the MOJO was stiff: An Intense EVP 5.5, a Turner Five Spot, and a Rocky Mountain Element 70. At the end of the day the Mojo was rated highest and declared THE WINNER.

HOLY SMOKES! We just got wind of the newest, nicest looking test of the Mojo we've ever seen. Our boys in Spain at Solo Bici just gave the Mojo a smokin' review, pretty much using every superlative in the Spanish dictionary. They loved the bike, think it's worthy of their "bike of the year" moniker, and did the best layout with tastiest pictures we've ever seen of the Mojo in action. Check out the PDF's here, they're amazing. Our collective Ibis knowledge of Spanish is pathetic, but we know enough to get the gist that these guys love love love this bike. Just like we do. Did you know there was a Men's Health Magazine specifically for the Philippines? Neither did we. Usually we dunces at Ibis find these foreign magazines a little harder to read. But Men's Health Philippines is easy to read. And we of course agree with their opinions on the bike.
